Who’s Behind the Book?

With its warm, uplifting text and enchanting illustrations, Django reaches into the hearts of children, understands their worries and suggests new ways of looking at the world. Meet Django the Dachshund, a very small dog, destined to be your new best friend.
The Author – Dr Julie Paine

Joss and the Lucky Boots has been lovingly created by psychologist, Dr Julie Paine, who lives with, and dearly loves, her little dachshund dog.

As a psychologist, Julie understands that growing up can sometimes feel overwhelming. Through the character of Django and the everyday challenges faced by the family, these stories aim to:

  • Encourage emotional resilience

  • Help children explore complex feelings

  • Promote kindness, understanding, and positivity

  • Open conversations between children, parents, and teachers

Written not only to entertain, but to gently support children as they navigate everyday experiences. For children and the adults they will become.
